Industries/Construction supply
Our longest-running customer. Thirty staff, two quite different businesses, and sales data that used to live in one place per department.
The situation
The company supplies the construction trade and runs an e-commerce operation alongside it. Each department kept its own sales data in its own place, in its own shape. Nobody could analyse across the whole company because there was no across.
There were also the small, unglamorous obligations that consume a small back office: the driver alcohol-check log, purchase orders, leave, the staff lunch order, embroidery jobs for workwear. Individually too minor to commission; collectively, most of an administrator's week.
They joined in January 2026 — the longest contract on the platform — and had their first application in production on day one.
Who built it
Three department heads
E-commerce, retail, and finance & admin. The people who owned the process each built the part of the platform their own department depends on.
Six applications is a small number. It is also every recurring administrative obligation this company has, built and maintained by the three people who were already doing them by hand.
What they built
“The people who do the work build it and test it themselves. That is what makes it genuinely agile.”
“Our sales data used to sit in separate places, department by department. With VCP we built our own platform that brings it together and lets us analyse across all of it. Sales, admin, accounts — they build it themselves.”
That is the category of work this platform was built for.
